When Art Meets disability: "Art of Inclusion"

Today is starting Art of Inclusion, an Erasmus+ strategic partnership, coordinated by Uniamoci Onlus, that will consist of three years of cooperation with the German Diakonie Bremen, the Romanian Fundatia Crestina Diakonia Filiala Sfantu Gheorghe and the Portuguese Centro Social e Paroquial Santos Màrtires. It is currently at the preparation phase, but from November 2016 to July 2019 the partners will implement varous local activities where to explore art and its relation with disability, between culture, reflections and artistic activities. And furthermore a totally new learning approach called blended mobility, or rather a combination of virtual and physical mobilities entirely based on learning about the project topics. The blended mobilities will bring the participants in Germany, Romania, Portugal and Itlay. It will be long lasting and structured learning experience that will involve 25 learners in each organization. "Art of Inclusion" represents a cocrete response to the barriers still perceived by people with disability: a response to the barriers to mobility (creating physical short term mobilities and virual mobilities for the beneficiaries), to education and leisure (creating an international and inclusive learning process), to the fruition of art and culture, to employment (through a deepening on the possibility of matching art and income); it will also promote the use of easy language and ICT technologies to overcome language and physical barriers. The international cooperation created by this project will lead to identify effective, shared and generalizable operative strategies in the perspective of a European Strategy for social inclusion of people with disability, while empowering its learners, giving voice to their needs and suggestions, and making them aware of their power to produce a change.
